Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons local honey
2 large eggs
1 ½ cups warm milk
⅓ cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 over ripe banana (mashed)
1 bottle Wisconsin maple syrup
1 tablespoon cinnamon
Directions
- Gather all ingredients.
- Mix flour, salt, cinnamon, and baking powder together in a large bowl; set aside. Preheat waffle iron to desired temperature.
- Beat eggs in a separate bowl and then stir in milk, butter, banana, honey, and vanilla.
- Mix the egg mixture until completely combined.
- Pour egg mixture into flour mixture and beat until blended.
- Ladle batter into a preheated waffle iron.
- Cook waffles until golden and crisp.
- Serve immediately
Notes
You can make the batter ahead of time and cook the waffles just before serving. Cover the batter and refrigerate overnight or up to 3 days. Whisk well before using.
Freeze any extra waffles in freezer and reheat in toaster.
